Tryouts for Boy’s & Girls Soccer, Boy’s & Girls Tennis, Baseball, Softball, and Outdoor Track, will begin on Monday Feb. 20. If you are interested in playing a sport then you should make plans to stay after school. You must have a completed VHSL Physical in order to try out for a team. Please make arrangements to have your ride at CHS to pick you up at 5:30 on Monday. Activity buses will be running Monday-Thursday during the Spring sports season and will leave at 5:30 each day from CHS so athletes may use those for transportation.

Volleyball Conditioning will start on Wednesday, July 13 from 10:00-12:00. Athletes will work out at the Community Center Gym. The CHS gym is currently closed for the renovation. Girls must have a current (dated after May 1, 2016) VHSL Physical in order to attend practice. Physical Forms are available online at vhsl.org under “sports medicine.”
State Champions!! At the 4A State Track & Field Meet, two Cavaliers won State Titles in their events. Alantra Mines won the triple jump and Chris Jackson won the 55 meter hurdles. Sierra Butler (4th- shot put) and Reggie Twisdale (6th- 500 meter) also claimed All-State honors. Alantra finished 6th in the high jump as well.
Hope Toliver, one of the most accomplished basketball players in school history capped her career by being named Conference 19 Player of the Year Mykaila Smith was named to the 2nd Team and NyAsia Brown was named Honorable-Mention.
David Ware was named a 1st Team All-Conference 19 selection. Vondell Green was chosen to the 2nd Team.
Winter sports are underway…
JV & V Boys basketball are both off to 2-1 starts. V Girls are 2-2 and the JV girls have been dominating going 4-0 so far this season.
Wrestling finished in 3rd place at the Cavalier Clash on Dec. 5. Four Caroline wrestlers were Runner-up for their weight class.
Track has already had a handful of athletes reach state qualifying standards and the boys team took home 3rd place this past weekend at Woodberry Forest.
Swim had their first meet of the season last week at Mary Washington University against James Monroe.
Come out Saturday, Dec. 19 to see all 4 basketball teams in action here at Caroline. Games start at 12:00 and go through the evening with the boys taking on Lee-Davis and the girls playing King William. Check out www.battlefielddistrictva.org for all the scheduling news.
Come out and support the football team Oct. 23 in their Homecoming game against Chancellor. There is a tailgate before the game and a bonfire from 5:30-7. Kickoff is at 7:00 and tickets are $6.
Caroline has a golfer that qualified for the state tournament. Congratulations to Cate Cooper and good luck! She will be playing in Virginia Beach on Oct. 26 & 27.
Congratulations to the Field Hockey team on victories last week over JR Tucker and Highland Springs, the team also lost a hard fought game 2-1 to Hopewell in a tournament over the weekend.
Senior golfer Cate Cooper has advanced to 4A East regionals which will be held Oct. 5 at the Tom Cat course at U.S. Naval Air Station Oceana in Norfolk. Cate advanced with a strong showing at the Conference 19 tournament in Culpeper.
The JV football team defeated Thomas Jefferson last week by the score of 18-0. JV football is now 2-2 on the season.

Congratulations to the boy’s soccer team on getting their first victory in 4 years. They defeated Louisa 2-0.
JV Baseball went 2-0 over spring break and has won 5 games in a row, the varsity team went 2-2 in their spring break tournament.
Come out on April 27 to support both varsity soccer teams as they take on Dinwiddie, girls tennis will play King George, and JV softball competes against Patrick Henry. All Parks & Rec. soccer players in uniform will be admitted free to the soccer game with a paid adult.
